I used the $9 fare club in January 2011 on a trip from DTW-TPA worked great for that trip however I forgot to cancel the membership and was billed 59.95 the next year. I called to cancel and told the rep that I understand that I forgot to cancel and to keep the 59.95 but I didn't want to be charged anymore and that I wanted out of the membership. He told me that I was all set and that I wouldn't be charged in the future. Fast forward to January 2013, billed 59.95 for the $9 fare club. Called to get my credit card refunded and was told they do not refund. I would stay away from Spirit and the $9 fare club. Auralia Full Version.
I haven't joined the $9 fare club but received an email in the fall that PDX to flights for a few specific dates were $88 round trip including taxes; usually $150 would be a great price. Thier $9 fare club is really $59. I called right away when I saw the charge in my online Discover account. I talked to someone with an accent that was hard to understand, She told me I would have to call my credit card company. Discover sent back their reply that if you agree to the terms (who reads that since it's so long) I would have to pay. It really ticks me off that they can rip people off like that. Something should be done but I don't know what. Any good lawyers out there?
