Can someone help me? I do not understand this at all. I have been trying to Save an Excel 2007 file as a PDF and it won't do it.
I have been trying this for an hour. I have download the patch add on so the option does show up in Excel under Save As. Save As-->PDF or XPS.
The window appears as normal to Save As with PDF appearing by default as Save File Type as. Underneath there are 3 additinal choices: Open file after publishing (left UNchecked) Standard (publish online and printing) Minimize size (publish on-line) Other Format (this choice appears directly under PDF or XPS) I changed the default Save File Type as from Excel Worksheet to PDF. The same 3 options from above appear again: Open file after publishing (left UNchecked) Standard (publish online and printing) Minimize size (publish on-line). Hi, Since googling lands here, Im posting an answer.
What you need to do is just install a printer driver. (You don't actually need to have a real printer connected) So on XP, you would go to Control Panel->Printers & Handward - >Add Printer. Choose local printer ->Leave the default COM Port. ->You'll get to a list of brands/providers and their printers.
It doesn't matter what you select. Click next and let it install.
If any developers land here and figure how to deploy a default printer please add you answer. Some other related links. I had the same issue after installing Windows 8. I followed gideonisrael's advice to resolve it and it worked: On Windows 8, mouse over to the Charms on the right side of the screen, select Settings>Control Panel>Devices and Printers.
